The new California law SB 553, effective July 1st 2024, mandates that all employers implement a Workplace Violence Prevention Program (WVPP). This law defines workplace violence broadly to include any act or threat of violence that occurs in the workplace, affecting employees’ physical or psychological well-being. To comply, employers must provide “effective training” on developing and implementing the WVPP, recognizing workplace violence specific to their job, and strategies to avoid physical harm. You can learn more about this law here.
We’ve developed a variety of resources to help get you compliant. These include the following:
- Necessary posters for your bulletin boards to guide your employees and managers on actions to take during an emergency event (download below)
- A Workplace Violence Prevention Program to customize for your restaurant (download below)
- A 1 Hour Online Workplace Violence Training Course, $20/person and $15/person for existing clients. To enroll your employees in this course please email [email protected].
